Content:
My documentary will be about the existence of ghosts, I will interview people and find out if they believe in the spiritual world or not, I will also be trying to record what happens in spiritual churches and the work of mediums and find out how it works and maybe interview a medium.
Resources/Equipment:
For this documentary I will be using a Canon 600D to film interviews and also try to film in a graveyard or church. I will also need a tripod to put the camera onto to keep it steady, and make it as clear a picture as I can. I will try to get a microphone to pick up noise better when outside filming and interviewing. I will need someone to help record the interviews for me whilst I ask questions.I need to make sure the camera is good enough to film which is why i will be using a Canon 600D.
Location:
The location I will be filming this documentary is in a church, graveyard or a spiritual church but i will need to ask permission to film in these places. The most likely place I will film this documentary is in a graveyard because a lot of people worry about going to a graveyard at night.

Marketing Research- Competitor Analysis
TV shows that are on at the same time have to compete with each other to get views, competitor analysis is when shows like Eastenders and Coronation Street that are on at the same time compete to get viewing figures and we can see which one gets more views by looking on BARB, this will tell us what show is watched mostly in a household. TV shows have to be made entertaining and on after 9 o'clock pm if they want views because people are more likely to view them at the times when children go to bed and if they are entertaining and well made they are more likely to get more views.

Audience Research
Classification:
In every TV show and documentary there are different classifications which include age and gender. My documentary is aimed at both males and females because its an interesting topic which appeals to both genders. The age range my documentary will be aimed at is people over 16, I have chosen this age because people under this age may be frightened.
Socio Economic:
The NRS social grade tells us the classifications of people for example a doctor would be in the upper middle class which is class a because they are quite wealthy and have a good job with a high income to the family home. The social grade of a person tells us whether they have a job that is considered to be worth a lot to do or no job at all like people who are pensioners or people who depend on the state for their income because they have terms where they can not work, for example single parents may need the extra care because they cant afford to get someone to watch their child while they work and it can be extremely difficult for them to be able to afford the things the child will need, this means that the state will give them child benefits to help them out. My documentary will be aimed at all classes because it will be suitable for anyone over the age of 16 and because it would be on at around 10 oclock at night when children would most likely be asleep so it does not have any influence on them and therefor cannot scare them.
Geo-demographic:
I will aim my documentary at people in larger cities because it is more likely to get more of an audience due to large amounts of population in these cities.
Media Preferences:
People who watch shows like Most Haunted and Ghost Hunters may be interested in my documentary because it is based on the same subject.

Product Preferences:
When people watch TV shows or films sometimes it makes them want to buy products that they use in those shows so maybe people who watch my documentary will be interested in filming footage themselves and buy some of the equipment used.

Secondary quanititive research-BARB
BARB is a website that tells us the audiences of tv channels and programmes and tells us what is most watched on all TV stations, it also shows competition, for example the soaps have competition because they are on at around the same time. These competitions are useful for channels because they get to try their best to get more viewers so they have to make their shows more interesting.
Secondary research-Supernatural experiences youtube videos
This is Matthew Payne, in this video he claims that he had a supernatural experience with an angel named Michael who protected him when people were against him and his friends.
This could be useful to my documentary because i can interview people who claim to have had paranormal experiences and see if the supernatural really does exist or not. This man has no evidence to prove he has had an experience but what he is saying in these videos still helps me with my documentary because nobody really has evidence.
